A lucky buyer from China was the winning bidder for this Song Dynasty Cizhou Ware Vase. Song Dynasty items have seen a rise in popularity partially due to their age and aesthetic simplicity. It is also believed by a few collectors that Song Dynasty wares are likely more authentic due to the difficulty in producing an imitation. While having no opinion in this matter, our in-house expert David, believes that some of the techniques and materials used in creating Song wares no longer exist. He adds that "the materials to recreate Song Wares are extremely rare or non existent".
